DCM - Mum's recipe

Daring Cardmakers little extra this week was a recipe - to use 2 buttons, 1 ribbon and a "spoonful" of flowers!

Here's mine, using a Magnolia stamp, AMM ribbon, prima flowers, sentiment stamp by Imaginisce and scalloped oval cut with a marvy punch.

Sketch this cards #43

Here is my take on the latest sketch from Sketch this cards, using MME Bliss papers, Bazzill blossoms, HOTP great big brad and rub on and Pebbles inc. sentiment rub on.

Arty Girlz - circles

Arty Girlz challenged us to use circles this week, so out came the scalloped circle Marvy punches!!

Everything on the card, including the stamp, is made my A Muse and is available HERE (and on sale!!) from Crop til you Drop.

SSC - Numbers

The Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge this week was to use numbers on your creation, so I scrapped these pictures of my 6th birthday party.

Up until now, I've only scrapped more recent photos, but last week I bought a big box of photos home from my mum and dad's and started scanning! So expect to see lots of pics of little me from now on!

So, for this LO I used Bazzill cardstock and Doodlebug Birthday Girl papers, stickers and embellies. The big 6 was cut on the expression using the Plaintain schoolbook cartridge, at a size of 11.5" (using the fit to page feature).

I got an award!!

The gorgeous, talented Fabrizio (check out his blog - his cards are wonderful!) has nominated me and all the CTYD Design Team girlies an E for Excellent blog award!! Thank you darling!

Now I get to nominate someone to pass the award on to and I nominate Maria - her blog is fab and her layouts never cease to inspire me - gorgeous colour matching and great composition - check it out!!

Have also done a LO today for the latest SSC challenge, but it's too dark now to take a decent pic - so will share tomorrow!

Arty Girlz # 22 - Green & Sketch this cards: 42

Arty Girlz challenged us to use green this week (with my gorgeous pal Fab as guest designer!!) and sketch this cards provided the sketch for this one.

I used Cloud 9 Design sorbet villa papers, fabric tape and chipboard shape, sentiment stamp by A Muse and ribbon from stash.

And talking of Arty Girlz - I won some fabby Paperartsy stamps from their sponsored stamping challenge!! So big thanks to Crissi and Julie and I'll make a card as soon as they arrive to show them off!

DCM oh so juicy & CPS #52 *AGAIN*!!

Daring Cardmakers little extra was to make a card with orange or lemon tones - never one for big decisions, I used both! For the layout of the card I used CPS #52 sketch again, as I really like this sketch!

Supplies: HOTP Citrus Creative Pack, Creative kit and instant card art, Edwin (magnolia) stamp.

CPS #52

Here's my take on this week's CPS sketch - uising 3 bugs papers and some blooms, ribbon and button from stash. Rub on is Pebbles inc.

All Dressed Up!

And here's the LO I did yesterday. Ash bought me the DCWV All Dressed Up stack for my birthday (I'd drooled over it at a show and he went and bought it for me - bless!)

But, as lovely as it was - what did I use it for? Far too nice for cards, and I had no posh photos. That was until mum found this pic of her and dad at a dinner and dance in 1973!! Don't they look sweet bless them?! Check out dad's bow tie!! And I just love the dress my mum is wearing - very chic!

I used DCWV All dressed up papers and chipboard shapes/word. Rusty Pickle lace (from Princess bride trims) Dovecraft jewel brads, Queen & Co felt fusion and Doodlebug paper frills.

Mum's order!

I had a very productive afternoon yesterday - 7 cards made and 1 LO! Those 7 cards included mother's day cards for my mum and Ash's mum - so they're done and out the way and these 2 cards for my mum.

First up, a card for one of her friends at work. I used the French Twist kit from Scrummy Stash cafe, as well as some thickers and a pebbles inc. rub on.

The second is a mother's day card for my mum and dad to give my nan. K&Co papers and stickers and a computer printed sentiment (can you believe I don't have a mother's day stamp?!)

SSC - Shapes

The Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge this week was to focus on one particular shape - no prizes for guessing what shape I chose! LOL

Papers and embellishments are rob n bob studio and scalloped squares were cut using marvy punches.

Caardvarks - Anniversary

The latest challenge over at Caardvarks is to make an anniversary card.

For this one I used an odd sheet of Bo Bunny paper that I had floating around, a Penny Black stamp and some Basic Grey chipboard hearts.

DCM - Love and Friendship

The dare over at DCM this week is Love and Friendship - so I made this cute little "Friends forever" card. Everything I used is from the My Minds Eye Out and About #2 kit from the Scrummy Stash Cafe.

And the other 2

And here's the other 2 LOs as promised.

1st one of Ash I used Love, Elsie Roxie papers, and the second one of Todd I used BG Scarlett's letter.

And, I've finally started the mini book (well 8x8 so not that mini!) of our trip to Tresco last April - as we're going again this April, I really need to pull my finger out and finish it I think!! LOL

On a roll!!

I am totally on a roll with the old scrapping at the moment! I have completed 4 LOs in 2 days, which is completely unheard of for me - I never scrap this much! Long may it continue I say.

Here's the 2 LOs I did yesterday (will show you today's efforts tomorrow when the light is better). Both of these use the Cherry Arte Princess papers, chipboard and rub ons, along with various blooms, brads etc. I love the fact that 2 very different LOs have come from the same paper range!

Right, best go and get dinner on - nice romantic dinner for 2 is on the cards tonight methinks!!

Di Hickman Feb #2

Di has done us proud with another great sketch this week.

I used SEI Auntie Gertie's garden papers and a rub on by Pebbles inc. A nice quick and simple card for the stock pile!!

Arty Girlz - Stamping

Arty Girlz challenged us to have a go at stamping - not much of a challenge for me as I love it!! But as I promised not to bore you all with my Magnolias and Penny Blacks for a while, I whipped out my Doodlebug stamps and made this really simple card. Paper is MAMBI, along with some ribbon and gems from my stash.

CPS # 51

CPS set another fab sketch this week, and here is my take. Using Autumn Leaves French twist papers (again!) and a Bazzill bling blossom. Swirly sentiment stamp is by HOTP.

Sketch this cards 41

Here's my take on the latest sketch from Sketch this cards, using Basic Grey Mellow papers and the little metal flowers are by AMM. Rub on sentiment by Pebbles inc.

Journalling Junkie #11 and BTYD #28

Beverley set the challenge over at the Crop til you Drop blog this week and the theme was LOVE and this tied in perfectly with the journalling junkie challenge to do a LO about someone special and what they mean to you.

This is the first Journalling Junkie challenge I have had a go at, as I'm not usually that big on the journalling, it reads:

It's hard to put into words just what you mean to me Ash. Ultimately you are my best friend. You are the only person I can talk to. You understand me better than anyone, even better than I understand myself sometimes. No matter what happens, what I do, you are always there. So loving, so patient. I don't know what I ever did to deserve you, but I am truly GRATEFUL.

So, having done a LO about Todd, I thought it was time my darling Ash got a look in! LOL

Papers I used are Fancy Pants Crush, Making Memories Noteworthy and KI Memories. Chipboard letters, bookplate and hearts are all basic grey, swirl stamps are Autumn Leaves and HOTP and ribbons from my stash.

SSC Love Challenge

Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge this week is a LURVE theme! So I just had to scrap a picture of my gorgeous baby boy! (most people would choose their OH, but this little guy is far more lovely! LOL)

I used my new French twist kit from SSC again, along with a french twist journalling panel (handy that I already had these eh?!) and some bazzill with an edge, queen and co felt fusion and scenic route and cherry arte chipboard letters. Soooo pleased with this LO!!

DCM - Sketch

Daring Cardmakers set us a sketch to play with this week, and here's my interpretation.

I received my new Autum Leaves French Twist kit from Scrummy Stash Cafe today (link on the right), and it is just yummy - I had to use it straight away! Sentiment stamp is HOTP.

Caardvarks - Baby Love

OK, so I know I said no more stamping, but I already had this one stamped and coloured, and it was perfect for this challenge - so that's allowed right?! LOL

I used Fancy Pants Sweet Pea papers and "welcome baby" die cut (available from CTYD) and some Papermania baby ribbons (that I've had for like EVER and not used! LOL).

Thursday 7 February 2008

And there's more!!!

I have become totally stamping OBSSESSED this week! LOL.

So the Magnolia's and Penny Black's will be going away next week, so I (and everyone else!) doesn't get totally bored of them!

Here's 3 more I've made this week:

1st one is Edwin with HOTP papers (8x8 travel) and Doodlebug sentiment stamps

2nd is Tilda on gorgeous CI Aubrey papers (find them HERE at CTYD)

and 3rd up is a gorgeous Penny Black hedgy on BG Two Scoops (so glad I bought the 6x6 pad, cos as much as I love this for cards, it's so not what I would scrap with! LOL)

Di Hickman Feb #1

I am on a roll today! LOL

Here's my take on Di's latest sketch - must say I LOVE this one (OK so I know I say that every week - but I do mean it!! LOL)

I used HOTP Use 'Em for anything Pastel papers, tilda stamp (again!!) and the scallop circles were cut out using Marvy Punches.

I also received my latest box of DT goodies from Beverley and they are soooo lush!! I've been playing already. We got some of the most gorgeous Fancy Pants papers and some lush chipboard (I LOVE chipboard!!) Check out the CTYD webshop - there's some fab offers on at the mo!

Arty Girlz - Frames

Arty Girlz challenge us to use frames this week, so I cut out this little beauty on the expression using the Accent Essentials cartridge, and popped Tilda sitting on the edge!

Papers and cardstock are HOTP 8x8 retro and the friends stamps is Doodlebug.

CPS #50

Here's my take on this week's CPS sketch. I used HOTP papers - one for the background and a co-ordinating one to cover the chipboard accent (which just hangs over the edge of the card a little, which I think looks kinda cool!). I then added a cute little Tilda, along with a stamped sentiment and some ribbon.

SSC Monograms and DCM Red and White

Scrummy Stash Cafe set us the challenge this week to use monograms. For this card I cut out the framed "u" on the expression using the mini monograms cartridge (rather appropriately! LOL). The colour scheme came from the Daring Cardmaker's dare to make a red and white card.

Stamp is by Penny Black and the rub on letters (love) are Doodlebug simply sweet.

Sunday 3 February 2008

Caardvarks - Valentine

Caardvarks challenge this week was to make a valentine card. I used Doodlebug papers and jewels (yes MORE doodlebug! LOL) and Penny Black stamps, and some random ribbon from my stash.

Friday 1 February 2008

SSC - Ribbons

Cutting it VERY fine this week, as the new challenge goes up over at SSC blog tomorrow morning!

Anyway, last Saturday's challenge was to use ribbons. So I made this card for my mum and dad who got back from holiday today.

I used some scraps of doodlebug papers, doodlebug jewels, alpha rub ons and ribbons and some other scraps of ribbon. (Told you I'd be using lots of Doodlebug! LOL)
