Di Hickman Jan #5

Here's my take on this week's sketch from Di. I used SEI Auntie Gertie's garden papers, some jumbo ric rac and a blossom -and my trusty chesnut roan fluid chalk ink around all the edges! Sentiment stamp is HOTP.

CPS #49

Here's my take on the latest sketch from CPS. Using Cherry Arte Princess papers and rub ons and a Heidi Swapp stamp.

My Creative Classroom

Make sure you hop on over to MY CREATIVE CLASSROOM and check out what's going on! It's their grand opening week and they have loads of free classes, competitions and prizes to be won.

You can even take a free class from Crop til you Drop's Beverley Todd (my buddy and all round very talented lady!) - I've signed up already - so see you there!!

Thank goodness for crop-a-diles!!

This is the project I mentioned yesterday - I have never done a LO that took so long! LOL

It was my turn to set the challenge over on the Crop til you drop blog this week (link to the side) and it's all about eyelets!

So, I went for eyelet overboard, but you know what? It took just 20 minutes to do all those - I would never have attempted that without a crop-a-dile! Sticking the buttons down took a fair bit of time too (as did cleaning all the diamond glaze off my hands afterwards!)

I have never done such a heavily embellished LO before, but I love it!! Maybe this is the way forward?! Nah, I'll be back to clean and simple before you know it!

Arty Girlz - Animals

This week Arty Girlz challenged us to use Animals - so I cut out this cute little guy on the expression, using my zooballoo cartridge (the "thanks" is from the same cartridge).

Layered him up on some doodlebug paper, added a bloom, and hey presto! nice quick card!

(Nice and quick cannot be said for another project I've been working on today - but I'll show you that tomorrow!)

Di Hickman Jan #4

Nice and early with Di's sketch this week!

I used Fancy pants Crush paper (both front and reverse of the same sheet) a HOTP fabric sticker, some Making Memories trim and a ribbon slide also from Making memories.

Tilda and Co Challenge - Shiny Silver

Shary (my fellow CTYD DT teamie) pointed me in the direction of the new Magnolia challenge blog, and so I thought me and my new tildas should play along! LOL

The first challenge was Shiny Silver, so I used some silver ribbon and a silver 7 gypsies buckle, and 2 silver glittery chipboard hearts by DCWV. Papers are HOTP and K&Co and I also used some Queen and Co felt fusion.

Di Hickman Jan #3

Here's my take on Di's latest sketch - I flipped it 90 degrees anticlockwise and used doodlebug papers, jewels, paper frills and bloom, HOTP sentiment stamp..... oh and tilda again! LOL
I'm trying to use up some of my massive Doodlebug collection at the mo - so expect to see lots more over the coming weeks!

Caardvarks - Bllue Moon

This week's challenge over at Caardvarks was to create a card with blue tones. So here is Tilda (again!) sitting on some gorgeous HOTP papers - and a HOTP bloom too. I don't normally use a lot of blue - but I'm quite pleased with this one!

CPS #48

Here's my take on this week's sketch from CPS. Using the My Minds Eye Bliss kit from Scrummy Stash Cafe and a basic grey rub on.

Tilda has arrived!

Yep, my first 2 magnolia stamps arrived in the post yesterday. I've seen these about on other blogs for ages now and loved them, but thought I'd be no good with them due to my ineptitude with watercolours. But I bit the bullet and ordered a couple to play with - and you know what I'm not as bad as I thought!! There is room for improvement, but I'm loving stamping and colouring - as you'll see from the amount of cards I'm about to post with them - it's all I've been doing for the past 2 days! LOL

The first of these 2 is loosely based on the sketch for CPS #48 and is Doodlebug papers, and the second card is HOTP papers.

Happy Birthday Samm!!

It's Samm's birthday tomorrow, so she set a challenge on her blog to make a birthday card (link on the right). She's also giving away some blog candy for the challenge (although I'm not entering that as I have too much stash already! LOL) and you've got until tomorrow night to enter - so why not have a go?

The sketch is CPS #47 and the Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge this weekend was to use 3 pieces of chipboard - so I used 3 chipboard shapes instead of the circles on the sketch. Papers are Love, Elsie Roxie from the SSC kit and I cut the scalloped circle on the expression using the mini monograms cartridge.

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY Samm - hope you have a good one (and I'll pop the card around tomorrow!)

Yet another 3 in 1.....

..... and yet another simple card (as most of mine are!)

So the sketch was provided by Di Hickman (jan #2) and I'm very pleased to report that, even though I didn't make the final cut for her card sketch team, Di's offered me a guest spot in June - so really looking forward to that!!

The paper is by K&Co from the Smitten range, I added some poundshop sticky crocheted ribbon, 3 heart brads which qualifies it for the Scrummy Stash Cafe "Brad Pitt" challenge, some heart vellum stickers and a red valentine epoxy sticker, which qualifies for the Arty Girlz "use Red" challenge.

So that's my first valentine's card done, I managed to sell a lot last year, but if I want to do the same this year I need to pull my finger out a bit! LOL

BTYD #23 and SSC - Scrappy New year

Charli set this fabby sketch challenge over on the Crop til you drop blog on Saturday and the challenge on Scrummy Stash Cafe blog was to use your scraps.

I have been meaning to scrap this picture for ages, but not got around to it until now. I just love this picture of my Dad (on the left) and Garry (future FIL) taken in Florida when we all went on holiday together. They both look so happy, and it reminds me of how well we all get on as a family, and how lucky I am to now have 2 wonderful sets of parents!

I used a scrap of paper by Chatterbox (OK so it's rather a LARGE scrap - but a still a scrap!! LOL) and the ribbons are from my latest Little Silver Hat kit. The clip is by HOTP and the buckle was lurking in my stash! The title was cut with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge on the expression, and the scalloped squares using the mini monograms cartridge.

Di Hickman Dec #4 and Jan #1

Here's Di's latest sketch and last week's too (where did that last week go?! LOL).

For the Jan # 1 sketch (which is probably my fave so far!) I used My Minds Eye Bliss papers, Doodlebug cardstock stickers and various blooms, primas and gems.

For the Dec #4 sketch I flipped it through 90 degrees and used My Minds Eye Out and about #2 papers, die cuts and a really cute crocheted flower (so wish I could crochet so I didn't have to buy them! LOL)

Caardvarks sketch challenge

Caardvarks set this fabby sketch by Becky Fleck this week.

I used My Minds Eye Out and about #2 papers from Scrummy Stash Cafe and the alpha stamps are by Banana Frog.

A very simple 3 in 1!

3 challenges in this one simple little card!

The sketch is from CPS (#45), the theme comes from Daring Cardmaker's ("new") and Arty Girlz challenge was to use embossing, so I used some embossed cardstock (although that might be cheating as I didn't actually do the embossing!)

Papers and epoxy sticker are Love, Elsie Jack and Abby, that my wonderful OH bought me for Christmas!

SSC - time

Hope you all had a wonderful festive season, I managed to get in my scrap room today for the first time since Christmas - and boy did it feel good!

This LO is for the latest challenge on the Scrummy Stash Cafe blog, with the theme of time.

Now, whenever we have a day out, lunch is always a cook up on our little stoves - no soggy sandwiches in tin foil for us! So I scrapped this picture of our alfresco lunch activities!

The papers are by We R Memory Keepers, alphabet stamps are Rusty Pickle and the journalling stamps are Banana Frog.
