DCM- In a Word

OMG am I cutting it fine this week! The new DCM dare goes up tomorrow and I'm only just uploading last week's!!

Last Friday's dare was:

This week I dare you to use a Word as the main focal point to your card. It can be a name, a greeting or just a word that inspires you. You can use other text but only one word as a main embellishment. So dig out your dictionaries, die cutters, alphabet stamps, rubons or download a funky font and show us what you can do! The design team have come up with some fabulous creations to inpsire you.

I used Basic Grey Scarlett's letter papers and the alphabet stamps are by Penny Black. The red heart was hand cut, and then I added some doodling with a fineliner - easy peasy!!

Will try and get this week's dare done a bit a quicker! LOL

DCM - Tearing Purple Holes for Christmas

My poor neglected little blog!! Work and family have taken over at the mo, so crafting and my poor little blog have taken a bit of a back seat lately!

However, I did manage last weeks dare over on Daring Cardmaker's, which was:

Well, the time has come for our first Christmas card dare of 2007.But as loads of you have already shown some fab Christmas cards on your blogs, we thought we'd make things a little more Daring, interesting, tricky or downright mean - depending on your point of view!
So, we'd like you to make and show a Christmas card which incorporates the following:
Some Paper Tearing
The colour Purple
AND
It has to have at least one hole somewhere in the design!

The background paper is from Dovecraft, as is the little snowman on the inside of the card peeking through the obligatory hole! I embossed the purple card with the cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder, and then sanded it and finished off with some stickles, then tore the edges. The Merry Christmas stamps is from A Muse.

DCM

Right, well I'm starting to get my mojo back and catch up after a hectic few days!

This is for the latest dare over on Daring Cardmaker's where you had to create a card using 3 die cuts. I used the Cherry Arte Princess papers and chipboard, and the frame, bookplate and heart buckle are all thick cuts die cuts. Just got to get the little extra done now!

More Special Days!

It's a busy time of year in our family!! Yesterday was Ash's birthday and here is the Nemo card I made him (he's 33 going on 3! LOL).

And today is Ash's mum's birthday so I made her this - she loves anything girlie!!

We're off out to dinner in a bit to celebrate, then hopefully from tomorrow I can catch up on HS:MS and all the various challenges I've been neglecting recently!

A very special day!

Yes, today is a very special day in our family. Today is Garry's (Ash's dad) re-birthday. What is a re-birthday I hear you ask? Well on 2nd September 1999 he had a heart and lung transplant and every year we have a celebration of his re-birth! He's an incredibly special guy with so much courage and strength - one of life's true heroes and so today is a celebration of his life (and the fact that he's still here!)

And what do celebrations mean? Cards of course! This top one I made from me and Ash (as we're all Disney mad) and the second one was for my Mum and Dad to give Garry (obviously they don't BUY cards anymore!)

So this post is a tribute to Garry - and here's to the next 8 years and more!!

HS:MS - MEGA catch up!!

I've had such a hectic few days - I've been doing HS:MS pics, but not had a chance to post them!!

So today is Show off Sunday and here is a picture I took this morning when we went to farming world (more about that in a later post!!) These little baby piggies were so friendly and coming right up the bars for a stroke, so I got this close up, which I think is really cute!!

And of course yesterday was Self Portrait Saturday, and I took this rather dodgy pic of myself!

And Friday's prompt was Chew - To bite and grind with the teeth. Find 'chew' in your space today.

This pic was taken a few weeks ago at Paradise Wildlife Park, this little baby deer was obviously teething as he was chewing on the bars of his cage!!

Phew, all caught up - what a relief!
