My Christmas House!

Having finally got all my craft fairs out the way for the year, I've got round to making some stuff for ME!

This year, I decided I wanted to make a gingerbread house, but the more I thought about it, the more it sounded like hardwork! lol Then on my last trip to Pickleberry Papercrafts I spotted this cute little wooden house and decided that sounded like a far more sensible idea!

A quick coat of paint, some Sassafras Life at the Pole papers, Doodlebug paper frills, buttons and a bit of Tulle and it was finished within half an hour - that's more like it!

And it even has cute little drawers to hide sweeties in (and then find them forgotten about and mouldy next year! lol)

Will have more projects to share soon!

Di's latest sketch went live yesterday, and here's my DT card - another entirely Doodlebug creation!

I must say I LOVE this card! Sometimes it just all comes together right without too much effort and you love the end result - and this is one of those times!

Scrummy Stash Cafe - Sketch it out!

It's been ages since I've done any of the SSC challenges, but I just had to do this fab sketch! I've used Doodlebug papers, buttons and alpha stickers, fancy pants chipboard and some random doggy embellies from my stash!

Some Layouts

Having spent weeks making tons of cards and other bits for my MISI store, I was yearning to do something for ME, so finally made some time this week for some scrapping!

The first layout is from Christmas, a really crappy photo - but illustrates perfectly the chaotic atmosphere of our festivities! I've used Love Elsie Noel for this one.

The second one is of my gorgeous pooch, using Doodlebug stuff, and the last one is a totally random layout about when Ash and I went to the Amusement arcades last September using Pink Paislee, Sassafras and Creative Imaginations papers.

Penny Black Saturday #31

This week's Penny Black Saturday theme was Pink and Brown, which was the perfect excuse to start making some Valentines cards, using this gorgeous Doodlebug paper. Papers, glitter cardstock, and jewels are Doodlebug and the sentiment rub on is Making Memories.

Di Hickman Dec #4 & #5

Catching up with Di's sketch cards again! Here are the last 2 from last week and today - you can find this week's sketch HERE.

These are both pretty much exclusively Doodlebug supplies - I just LURVE Doodlebug!

I've been busy this week, adding more to my MISI store and listing some old stash on ebay, UKS marketplace etc.

So it just remains for me to wish everyone a Happy New Year - hope 2009 is a good one for all!

Maria's Class

My god - I don't think I've ever spent so long on a layout! LOL, but I must say I just love the finished result - thanks hun!

The first part of the class was to print your own overlay, and this was fun! I knew the picture I wanted to use, so created this overlay in Word (very simply!) using autoshapes - to look like bubbles!

The papers I've used are Basic Grey Euphoria, along with Doodlebug alpha stickers and buttons, Rusty Pickle chipboard, Autumn Leaves journalling and swirl stamp, and a HOTP swirl stamp.

So that's 5 layouts done so far this weekend - on to the next one! You'll be so sick of seeing pics of me as a kid before long! LOL

Rachael's Friday class

As promised last night, here's my take on Rachael's fabby class last night - all about adding depth and dimension.

I didn't have any sequin waste so had planned to use paint and bubble wrap instead, then I didn't have the right colour paint, and being the impatient person I am, I just replaced the paint effect with a contrasting paper with a distressed edge.

For the bottom of the LO, instead of handcutting some flowers, I used the cardstock stickers, raising some of foam pads for added depth.

Arty Girlz #43

Arty Girlz challenge this week was to do a male themed item, so I've done this LO of my OH as a little 'un using Pencil Lines sketch #92.

I've used my beloved Sassafrass papers and stickers again - this time the Robotics collection, along with some Doodlebug alpha stickers, ribbon, chipboard starts and buttons, a prima arrow stamp and all finished off with some acrylic paint.

CPS #72

Here's my take on the latest sketch from CPS - it's a bit of a Doodlebug-fest this card! I've used Doodlebug papers, alphabet stickers, paper frills and bazzill cardstock.

Penny Black Saturday #4

Here's my take on the PBS challenge of using buttons and brads. I've use Fancy Pants papers, Doodlebug sentiment stamps, some random buttons and flowers from my stash and some Imaginisce courdroy brads.

CPS #71

Here's my take on yet another fabby sketch from CPS this week! This one was soooo quick and simple, a couple of scraps of Doodlebug paper and Bazzill, some Doodlebug ribbon and a Pebbles inc. rub on!

CPS #70 & Arty Girlz Nature

Here's my take on this week's fab sketch from CPS and all those flowers fit nicely with the Arty Girlz nature theme.

The papers are K&Co Berry Sweet and the embossed scalloped frame is from Craftwork cards and I coloured it with shimmer chalks. For the centre I cut out a scalloped oval with a Marvy punch, chalked the edges and added a Pebbles inc. rub on. I then stamped 3 Doodlebug flower stamps and coloured them with Sakura gelly roll pens *haven't used these for AGES*. Nice and bright and glittery!!

Saturday workout #10

This week's workout was to do hand cutting. So I used these We R Memory Keepers papers and cut out some of the paisley shapes and mounted them on the card with foam pads. Stamp is Magnolia and sentiment stamp is Doodlebug.

Stamp Something sketch ~ Caardvarks - think pink

Here's my card for the Caardvarks "think pink" theme, and I used the Stamp Something sketch for the layout.

Papers are by Doodlebug, stamps from High Hopes and round sentiment stamp from Cuddly Buddly.

Scrummy Stash Cafe - Samm's class

Here's my take on Samm's fabby class - this is me playing in the snow at about 4 years old!

I must admit it was a bit scary putting that much acrylic paint onto a sheet of cardstock! LOL

I've used Basic Grey Dasher papers, and the title is a mixture of the matching alpha stickers and American Crafts Thickers (totally obsessed with these!). The chipboard frame was painted with acrylic and then sponged with white chalk ink, to mimic the paper underneath and I added some random epoxy stickers that were lurking at the bottom of my Christmas box!

The scalloped edge along the bottom was cut with the Fiskars threading water punch - my favourite new toy! and then I added some velvet ric rac.

To break up the painted area I added some snowflake brads topped off with adhesive gems, as was the Doodlebug paper frill at the top.

A True Friend Challenge #28

Here's my take on the latest challenge on the True Friend blog - to do a layout showing the evidence left behind by our pets!

I called this one "Welcome to Todd's place" as he really does rule the roost! The evidence down the right hand side shows his own armchair complete with sheepskin rug and teddy, his own cupboard in the kitchen, his cupboard full of coats, leads, brushes etc. and his own bathroom shelf!

I've used Doodlebug papers, paper frills and cardstock stickers, a mixture of jewelry box, prancer and rootbear float thickers for the title and MM tiny ledger stickers on the photos.

Friday Sketchers #6 ~ Penny Black Saturday #1 ~ Stamp Something #6

A fabulous new challenge blog has been set up dedicated to Penny Black stamps (will add the link to my side bar shortly!). Now I love my PBs (all Hedgies btw) and the first challenge was to use your first Penny Black stamp - and that's this cute little guy!

I used the latest sketch from Friday sketchers and the stamp something Monochromatic theme too!
